Jeongyeon finally speaks up regarding the issue of her not having fancams for their ‘More & More’ live performances!
Fans have been wondering why Mnet and SBS have uploaded fancams of all the TWICE members except Jeongyeon's fancam.
On June 7th, the hashtag #RespectJeongyeon trended on Twitter as fans demanded Jungyeon's fancam from both Mnet and SBS after TWICE's appearances on M Countdown and Inkigayo.
Even TWICE’s ‘More & More’ MV on YouTube are filled with questions and debate regarding the fancam issue.
TWICE's Jeongyeon went live on V App on June 8 to finally explain what happened to her unreleased fancams. She stated the following:
“While we were filming the ‘MORE & MORE‘music video, I felt a numbness that went all the way to my ear,” she said. “So I thought I’d better go to the hospital again — I went there a few times in the past and they’d told me everything was okay.”
“We found this out a week before the comeback,” she said, explaining that she’d had a procedure done. “To elaborate, I was in the hospital too and so I really wasn’t able to practice for this comeback. I could hardly practice at all.”
She went to a specialist hospital this time around, and they told her that she had a herniated disc in her neck. In fact, she has been spotted a few times wearing a neck support.
Jeongyeon added, “I really hated the thought of showing ONCE an imperfect performance, you understand how I feel, right? So after I discussed with the company, we asked the networks for their understanding and talked to them about not filming fan cams for me.”
Jeongyeon apologized for the misunderstanding and revealed that she has been getting shots for her pain and is feeling much better now. She reassured her fans that she is trying her best to get better fast and that they don’t have to worry about her.
TWICE recently made their comeback on June 1 with their mini album MORE & MORE.
