Weki Meki makes long-awaited return with their new 3rd mini-album ‘Hide and Seek’ along with a music video for the title track ‘Oopsy’ today, June 18.
‘Oopsy’ is a playful yet chic dance track that is perfect for summer. The lyrics portray the uncertain state in a relationship between two individuals where they like each other but are not able to step into a committed relationship.
Weki Meki’s new mini-album consists of 5 tracks including the title track ‘Oopsy’ and their digital single ‘Dazzle Dazzle’. The album will portray two concepts based on the photo concepts released prior to the release, one being 'HIDE' and another one being 'SEEK'.
“In the 'HIDE' concept, it is romantic and the girls are dressed in a glamorous one piece which allowed them to have an alluring atmosphere. On the other hand, there are feather masks and chandelier in 'SEEK' concept, suggesting the fantasy and mysterious vibe they are going for.” Kpopmap reported.
Weki Meki is a girl group formed by Fantagio in 2017. The group consists of eight members: Ji Su-yeon, Elly, Choi Yoo-jung, Kim Do-yeon, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy. Weki Meki released their debut extended play, Weme on August 8, 2017. The extended play contains six tracks with the lead single titled "I Don't Like Your Girlfriend".
Two of the members, Do-yeon and Yoo-jung were previously part of the project girl group I.O.I that debuted after both ranked in the final top 11 contestants on the survival show Produce 101‘s first season in 2016. After I.O.I officially disbanded at the end of January 2017, both members returned to their agency and prepared to debut with Weki Meki.
It has been more than two years since Weki Meki released their 2nd mini-album. However, the girls did release their digital single ‘Dazzle Dazzle’ on February 20, 2020.
