The South Korean all-boy group ATEEZ made known their much-awaited appearance on KBS2’s renowned music competition ‘Immortal Songs.’ The said competition series has famous groups and soloists to perform their unique rendition of legendary Korean songs.
When the host called out ATEEZ, all eight band members stormed over the stage as they mesmerize their fans, and the show’s viewers with a 1995 hit track of Turbo titled ‘Black Cat.’ The group showed off that their performance is unparalleled and powerful as they give out their rendition of the iconic song.
Having all that said, the rookie K-pop ATEEZ group breathtakingly won the episode.
Before the band performed, the members promised a performance that would show their versatility, regardless of winning and losing. Well, the boy band proved their statement as they lived up to it.
ATEEZ graced their sophisticating performance while wearing elegant black outfits where they kicked off the song in an eccentric fashion depiction, tagging along with a piano melody. They immediately captured the audience’s attention with the song’s transformation into a rock arrangement. Undoubtedly, ATEEZ gave off a new and enlivening version of the song, still keeping its familiar tune.
Even though the rookie group does not own the song, they incorporated their signature to their performance. Adding up their powerful expressions and moves from their promotional track ‘THANXX,’ the member who stands out among others is Jongho. He stunned the viewers and audiences as he reached an impressive six-octave high-note.
The band’s impressive performance led them to bag the show’s first place, marking the first fourth-generation group to win on ‘Immortal Songs.’
In an interview after their win, ATEEZ shared that they’ve watched and studied the original stage video while preparing. “It’s an honor to be in the same place with the seniors we respected,” the band said.
