After the release of the line-up, netizens were quick to notice that the girl group Red Velvet was included. If Red Velvet pushes through, it will be the first time that they will be performing as 5 complete members since member Wendy’s accident.
It can be recalled that Wendy of Red Velvet suffered severe injuries after falling from a high stage platform during her rehearsals for SBS Gayo Daejeon on December 25, 2019.
Wendy was hospitalized after she was diagnosed with fractures in her pelvis and wrist, as well as injuries to her face. She was discharged after two long months in the hospital and is reportedly still recovering from the traumatic accident.
Since Wendy's accident, Red Velvet has been promoting as four members only for their ‘Psycho’ comeback. After their group promotions ended for Psycho, the remaining four members focused on individual activities while waiting for Wendy to fully recover.
Both SM Entertainment and Red Velvet have not released a statement yet on whether Wendy will be joining the group on the half-year special performance. We all have to wait and see!
