In her latest comeback to the music industry, Jamie had a sat down interview with OSEN and talk about her challenges to finding her personality and voice.
In the interview, Jamie shares her idea about what her future career is like, as she stated that she doesn’t think that becoming a singer is not tied to becoming a fantastic person, adding that you have to keep learning. The singer continued that every time she releases an album, she learns something new, but hasn’t been able to satisfy herself musically.
Over the years, Jamie has been critiqued about her lack of individuality. The singer stated that she wants to hear that has a unique appeal as a musician and person. Jamie added that she wants to be a chameleon, be an artist who can pull off any color at any place, and be remembered as an appealing and honest artist.
Jamie continued that her ability to match any song is one of her strengths, to be like a chameleon. She revealed that the comments about her lacking an individuality negatively hurt her, statements such as “There is nothing special” or “There is nothing individual.” However, she now realizes that being a “chameleon” is a part of her individuality and can express emotion regardless of whether it’s a sad or upbeat track.
Moreover, Jamie also talked about how she was hands-on in her latest single “Numbers” with the artist writing, producing, and styling the music video. The soloist stated that she gets inspiration through whatever she’s feeling, experiencing, or hearing. The singer continued by saying that it’s a little too hard for her to imagine strange things, the things that she experiences, she tries to note them down and write a song from it.
Meanwhile, Jamie had made her much-awaited return to the music scene as the singer releases her new single “Numbers” featuring Changmo and a music video. Her latest single is a hip-hop track that focuses on not judging others by their looks. Jamie and Changmo also participated in writing the song, along with other producers in the industry.
