With less than three weeks to go until the release of BLACKPINK's highly anticipated album title "The Album," fans wonder what the girl group may be hiding from them.
Here is a rundown of the things we know about "The Album."
It Will Define Genre
BLACKPINK had an interview with Zach Sang that confirms what fans can expect for "The Album." Rose confirmed that the upcoming album will be genre-defining and expresses both the girls' black and pink sides. The Kpop idol group has already established that their single "How You Like That" and "Ice Cream" is a part of "The Album."
Ryan Tedder Has A Co-Written Track
HIt-maker and vocalist Ryan Tedder of the American band One Republic have confirmed in multiple interviews that he has a co-written track for BLACKPINK's "The Album."
The vocalist also affirms that he has a co-written track with Melanie Fontana, the co-writer of BTS's s" Boy with Luv" and Tommy Brown, the producer of Ariana Grande.
There Are Eight Tracks Total In 'The Album'
YG Entertainment has yet to confirm or release an official track-list of BLACKPINK's "The Album," but UMG Japan confirmed that there would be eight tracks in "The Album." During the pre-order of the upcoming album, UMG Japan stated that there would be eight tracks, along with the two singles aforementioned before.
Multiple Producers Are Involved
While BLACKPINK's last comeback singles have been produced by Teddy and Co., the release of "The Album" will have tracks composed by multiple producers in the music industry.
"Ice Cream" was produced by Tommy Brown and Steven Franks. Jennie confirmed that Tommy would co-produce another track, but rumors stated that the Ryan Tedder co-written track would most likely be the one.
There are also rumors that BIG BANG member G-Dragon will have a co-produce track for BLACKPINK's "The Album" due to various surfacing videos online with the BIG BANG member in the studio with the girl group.
Jennie Will Rap
While BLACKPINK's main rapper Jennie hasn't been able to add a rap verse in the group's latest released singles, she will most likely be rapping in the next single of "The Album."
In "How You Like That" fan signings, Jennie told the fans not to be disappointed that she didn't have the chance to rap in the last three singles as there will be more chances to rap in future tracks.
BLACKPINK's highly anticipated album "The Album" is set to release on October 2.
