Fantagio, on September 16, has shared an update on its filed case against malicious commenters.
Fantagio shared on its statement that through May, June, and July, they filed multiple complaints against those who defame their artists' name and reputation through malicious criticism. Also, they took legal action against the reckless spread of false rumors and sexual harassment.
Some of the lawsuits they filed already have passed the stage in which the plaintiff gives a statement, Fantagio explained. The agency continued that the accused have been identified, so they will soon know the results of the complaints that are under investigation. "We also intend to keep filing more complaints," said the agency.
Furthermore, Fantagio added that through the agency's internal monitoring and the sent evidence from the fans, they have confirmed that the insults and rumors that cross the line have been directed at their artists. The abuses and false stories, as explained by the agency, have caused their artists' psychological damage and harm to their image. And as a result of this, they intend to continue taking intense legal action against this behavior.
The agency revealed that they would be pursuing strict legal measures instead of agreeing to spare the accuses. This action will be made because of their suffering artists and fans who are suffering alongside them.
At present, Fantagio houses idol groups like ASTRO and Weki Meki and solo artist Ong Seong Wu. The agency also manages several actors.
Settled Dispute Over Management Rights
Fantagio previously gave an update regarding their legal dispute over management rights between the company and its major shareholder. The said dispute started in April of this year when L&A Holdings became Fantagio's largest shareholder.
Fantagio (CEO Park Hae Sun), as a company listed on KOSDAQ, was involved in a legal battle with its largest shareholder, L&A Holdings, surrounding the rights to take control of the company. However, it was revealed on September 9 that Fantagio's board of directors and L&A Holdings (CEO Park Sun Hoo) had reached an amicable agreement, ending the legal dispute.
