Jessi and Lee Seung Chul are confirmed to be a part of the Mnet audition program “CAP-TEEN” as judges!
The new show, Mnet’s “CAP-TEEN,” will be searching for the next teen K-pop star. It will also be inviting the contestants’ parents to receive direct feedback from the show’s panel of judges.
The new posters released for the show read, “Do you have a ‘mom’ that will let you become a singer?” The tagline is a pun that emphasizes the role of the contestants’ parents in the show. It can also be read as, “Do you want to make them a singer?”
Jessi shared her thoughts about being a cast of the show as a judge. She said that she came to Korea alone when she was 15 years old to become a singer. Jessi noted that she would honestly give the parents and contestants the best of her advice in her style, as a person who can relate to the teenagers taking on the challenge.
Furthermore, Jessi also talked about working with singer Lee Seung Chul. “It’s such an honor,” Jessi said. She explained that she hasn’t had many opportunities to meet Lee Seung Chul, but she wants to get closer to him through the show.
This year, Jessi has been busy with the release of her new mini-album featuring the title track “NUNU NANA,” and she is currently appearing on tvN’s “The Sixth Sense,” and MBC’s “How Do You Play?“
“CAP-TEEN” is slated premiere in November.
The Well-Rounded Applicants
“CAP-TEEN’ was first announced in July and revealed that it would only accept applicants until August 28. “CAP-TEEN” received applicants who are talented in various areas, including singing, dancing, and rapping. “CAP-TEEN” also accepted not only individual contestants, but also groups.
The winner of the show will be given a chance to release a debut song produced by a star producer with choreography by one of Korea’s best dance teams.
