IU held a special live broadcast on September 18 to mark 12 years since her official debut in 2008. The singer-actress made her start as a singer on this date with “Lost Child” as her first music show performance.
IU revealed that the people behind decorating the set for her broadcast are her staff since they were calling it her 12th birthday. On her broadcast, the singer said hello to fans around the world by greeting them in English and Chinese languages.
IU saying that a lot had happened to her lately, mentioned that she’d filmed on Tuesday for her anniversary mini-concert episode of the music show “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook.”
The singer shared that she lay on her bed for three days after she did her Seoul concert. IU also revealed that her parents, during those times, go to her home to make her food.
Furthermore, IU explained that she’d gone to the recording for “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook,” thinking of it as a concert, but she realized it was just a show and not a concert. She continued that since it’s a show, it has to be filmed from several angles, and she hadn’t prepared for that at all. The actress mentioned that there had been times when she’s performed concerts for up to six hours, but the experience was different.
IU expressed that the experience felt like she’d done three concerts in a day. “I thought that it would be easy for me since there would be fewer songs than a concert, but it was challenging.”
She also revealed that she had to change her makeup quickly, and it was like training that she’d never experienced since her debut. “I was losing my voice,” IU said that she only loses her voice when doing concerts, so she did not expect that it would happen to her on the show. But it was only on the last hour of her recording when she started losing my voice, IU said. “The ‘Sketchbook’ staff kept on cheering me on a lot, and so did the IU team and Yoo Hee Yeol.”
The mini-concert of IU will be airing on “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook” on September 18.
