High School Rapper officially announced its return with a fourth season!
High School Rapper is a super popular hip-hop reality show, a rap competition between high schoolers.
On October 28, 2020, Mnet unveiled an exciting short teaser video for the fourth season of the survival show. Mnet reported to Newsen that the fourth season of the high school rap survival show High School Rapper sets to air in the first half of next year. Newsen also stated that the show is currently preparing for auditions and choosing participants before officially kicking off its production.
The teaser video shows the logo for the show in bold green and black-backed with exciting background music. The show reached Korea and even worldwide. It also raised expectations from fans for the most-awaited comeback with the fourth season of the show.
High School Rapper effectively launched many aspiring rappers' careers as many former contestants and winners of the show moved forward and created jobs for themselves.
High School Rapper season one aired on Mnet in 2017 and hosted by Jeong Jun-ha and Haha. This season includes Swings, YDG, Mad Clown, Deepflow, Jessi, Seo Chul-gu, and Giriboy. From episode one down to episode three, presented the preliminary rounds of the competition. Many high school students from six arrears joined during the preliminary round, but only ten survived in every area.
From the beginning of the show, a lot of controversy surrounding the participants. The center of discussion was Jang Yong-jun and received compliments from mentors to display extraordinary skills in rapping, especially in Swings of episode one. But, because of his misbehavior like drinking and prostitution widely broadcast over the media, he resigned from the program. Ultimately declared as the winner of the first season of the show was Yang Hong-won (Young B).
The second season of High School Rapper aired in May 2018. The winner was Haon, Bae Yeon-seo came in second, and Lee Byung-Jae took third place in the final ranking. Haon is currently an incredibly popular rapper under AOMG.
The third season of High School Rapper aired in February 2019. This season received so much attention due to the presenter Nucksal, an extremely successful rapper. The winner of this season was Lee Young Ji.
