K-pop’s biggest stars, BTS, has bagged four awards at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards for their smash hit “Dynamite” this year.
BTS won the awards for Best Song category for “Dynamite,” Best Virtual Live for their concert “BTS BANG BANG CON - The Live” held virtually amid COVID-19, Best Group, and Biggest Fan Base, the ARMY.
Moreover, BTS gave a shout-out to all ARMYs at the award show after the group won the Best Group award for the third time in a row. RM stated during their speech, “We’ll keep working hard to be a group that can touch the hearts of people and gives them hope through music.”
BTS was up against the most prominent artists of their generation, such as Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa, and more. But the biggest winner of the night was the K-pop group BTS when they took home four awards. Other than BTS, the winners also include Cardi B, Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Karol G, Hayley Williams, and YUNGBLUD.
The 2020 MTV EMAs were held virtually and were filmed in various locations, including London and Budapest, on November 8. The event featured performances from the music industry's biggest names, such as Little Mix, Alicia Keys, Sam Smith, Karol G, and more. It was filmed in multiple locations around the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It comes as a massive year for BTS, who has built its loyal fanbase despite the restrictions brought about by the Coronavirus pandemic. Big Hit Entertainment debuted in the stock market in an amazing style in October, leaving each boy band member with as much as £16m ($21 Million) based on early trade.
On the other hand, BTS is gearing up for their upcoming album titled “BE” slated for a November release. The boy band also released individual concept rooms for their upcoming album recently.
