BTS has been nominated for various awards through their music except for their album, 'MAP OF THE SOUL: 7.' However, fans and some netizens believe and argue that the septet has been robbed of their victory.
On November 25, Wednesday, Koreaboo reported the netizens and ARMYs are upset that BTS's 'MAP OF THE SOUL: 7' did not make it through the recognition it deserves. Grammy released an official list yesterday for the 2021 list of nominees to which the BTS had successfully made through.
BTS's massive hit 'Dynamite' has been nominated for the category of 'Best Pop Duo/Group Performance' along with other Western Artists, J Balvin, Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny, Tainy, Justin Beiber, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, and Taylor Swift. The septet had been the first K-pop group to be nominated in a major GRAMMY category.
Aside from getting nominated for the 'Best Pop Duo/Group Performance' award, 'Dynamite' was also submitted for other categories such as 'Song of the Year,' 'Record of the Year,' and 'Best Music Video.' Fans believe that with 'Dynamite,' BTS will be able to sweep awards this year.
Meanwhile, BTS's 'MAP OF THE SOUL: 7' was proposed for the categories of 'Album of the Year,' 'Best Engineered Album, Non- Classica,' and 'Best Pop Vocal Album,' but unfortunately failed to receive an official nomination. However, fans are delighted with the news of 'Dynamite' making it through the GRAMMYs this year.
Despite having an official nomination for the GRAMMYs, some ARMYs (BTS Fandom) believed that 'MAP OF THE SOUL:7' deserved more recognition for its massive success this year. The fandom started to trend the 'ROBBED' phrase on Twitter, alluding to GRAMMYs brushing off BTS.
Fans believed that BTS is being robbed of their possible achievement and argued that BTS's 'MAP OF THE SOUL: 7' must be nominated for 'Album of the Year.' Fans take it to Twitter to express their disappointment, but Big Hit Entertainment has not yet commented on the matter.
