The star of SBS' drama "Nobody Knows"- Kim Seo Yung has been causing a commotion after requesting termination of her exclusive contract with Madi Pictures.
The dispute with Madi Pictures was exposed on July 14 after Kim Seo Yung released a statement requesting termination of her exclusive contract with her agency.
The actress's statement reads, "Talking about the agency; there was an acquaintance who had no experience in managerial activities but has to show affection for the actress for a long time. And the actress trusted her words," wrote Soompi.
The actress stated that it had been a challenging run for her because of the manager's lack of experience and financial capabilities. Still, she explained that she tried to be accommodating with the situation.
"The plea of terminating the exclusive contract is not due to a disagreement with the manager. But because the manager behaved in a way that betrayed the trust between her and the actress." The statement said that Kim Seo Yung heard this issue from a third party, and she met the manager. The manager was favoring the termination of the contract and stated that she was ashamed.
Also, the statement said that the actress Kim Seo Yung discovered that there was a problem with financial credit related to the manager. As the trust between the two parties was broken, the actress went for confirmation with her manager but was replied that such things were not vital to her managerial work and said that she would terminate the contract as agreed.
The actress sought help with a law firm and requested an explanation of the issues that had violated their trust relationship, but the manager refused.
With this, the law firm notified Madi Pictures, who was in charge of Kim Seo Yung's welfare and management, that the contract had been terminated. The legal firm also applied for a provisional injunction to suspend the effectiveness of the contract.
