After obtaining criticism from BTS supporters, TIME makes modifications to the controversial special edition bookazine.

Previously this week in a joint venture with publisher Meredith, TIME launched pre-orders for 'TIME BTS: the K-Pop Band that Conquered the World.' Fans questioned the layout of the bookazine's cover and called out the editor for the high contrast and composite image taken together from other photos of BTS' press photos.

Those people also began to doubt the publishing of the bookazine. In response to the hotly criticized debacle, TIME guaranteed the fans the legitimacy of the bookazine's (BTS: The K-pop Band that Conquered the World) publication and its launch at the end of the month this year. (via Koreaboo)

Aside from the layout cover issue, fans also called out the bookazine's mistake regarding Jimin addressed by Suga's name. Lastly, a portion of Jin's forthcoming enrollment in the military service and TIME claimed that Backstreet Boys and NSYNC actually paved the way for BTS' fame.

The United States' leading magazine TIME and the publisher Meredith modified some parts from the BTS bookazine to correct some misleading information in response to the fans' concerns. They completely wiped out the sentence where Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC were mentioned.

Boyband BTS recently posed for the magazine's cover photo as the "Next Generation Leaders" back in 2018. Following the title bestowed upon the band as TIME's 100 most influential people of 2019.

About BTS' Group Name & Song Lyrics

The group's name, BTS, refers to the Korean term "Bangtan Sonyeondan" that literally translates to "Bulletproof Boy Scouts."

As per member J-Hope, the name resembles the team's wish "to block out prejudices, critiques, and perceptions that focus on teenagers like bullets." The band's song lyrics are based on their personal and social analysis. Most of their songs cover the concept of youth mental health, high school troubles, loss, the path to self-love, and freedom.
