The arranger and film music director of the philharmonic orchestra, Park In Young, arranged the new version of "End of the Day." With an intro from Claude Debussy's "Clair de Lune," the vocal melody was delicately portrayed through the use of wind and string instruments.

David Ye, the associate conductor for the Seoul Philharmonic, conducted the orchestra in the music video released by SM Entertainment. The video also contains short clips and images that reflect the heartfelt message of the original song lyrics.

SM Entertainment stated that the proceeds from the orchestral rendition of "End of the Day" will be donated to the Shiny Foundation, a foundation established by Jonghyun's family, who was the original writer and producer of the song.

According to Allkpop, the Shiny Foundation was established in September 2018 by the mother of the late SHINee's Jonghyun to carry on his legacy. The foundation is funded by copyright fees collected from Jonghyun's music and aims to aid musicians who wrestle from financial difficulties and lack of support.

The foundation launched its official Instagram, Twitter, and Youtube accounts on October 1, 2018, with the ID shiny90408. Meanwhile, the orchestra version of "End of the Day" uploaded on YouTube by SM Entertainment already reached 211,000 views.
