The former member of U-KISS, Alexander, reveals to JAYKEEUT x VWVB, the widely known YouTube channel, about the real reasons why he quit the group.
Alexander left the band in 2011 following his debut in 2008 but confessed he never spoke about what went down. He finally talked about it and started by sharing that he felt it was unfair that his managing label abruptly told him that they would be swapping members without prior notice. He added that the company said they aren't talented enough, and they want more Korean members for the group.
He helped a great deal in promoting U-KISS as per Alexander, but his company unexpectedly proposed leaving the company. "We have been doing many things abroad, and I have been assisting a lot for it. I even instructed them on how to utilize and promote our materials with Twitter. But afterward, they went and then said, "We intend to replace some members. How do you feel about joining the team abroad instead?" They've just tried to kick me out, I thought." via Koreaboo.
The issue does not stop there. Sadly, another person gave Alexander more reason for quitting the band. The employee informed him that he should think about the offer, giving him the impression of discouragement by saying he has no match for other Korean celebrities since he is not popular enough in South Korea. Since he was young at that time, he just agreed.
Alexander believes this thing also happens to other young artists by their managing labels. Thankfully, Alexander was capable of leaving the team and the company on reasonably decent terms. He shared his aunt went to talk to the CEO to honestly ask for his opinion about his participation in the group.
Alexander stated that it's hard for a contract to be fully terminated by the agency, but they could end everything in good terms. But in the end, the agency released a false reason why he departed the group and said he wanted to pursue his educational needs.
