Netflix confirms that the second season of the popular Korean series ‘Love Alarm’ will be released on August 22, 2020.
The additional season for ‘Love Alarm’ is already expected to trend once released since the first season received a lot of love for its unique and fresh story line.
Love Alarm is a South Korean drama on Netflix that premiered on August 22, 2019. The drama revolves around the use of an application that notifies whether someone within the vicinity of a 10-meter radius has romantic feelings for them, enables users to discover love.
Season 1 ended with a cliffhanger, leaving the fans wondering who Kim So-Hyun’s character ‘Jo-jo’ will choose in the end. This led to fans anticipating the announcement if there will be a second season.
Fortunately, on October 30, 2019, the drama’s cast confirmed that there will be a new season through a clip on Netflix’s Korea social media channels.
“With the strength of your warm love, ‘Love Alarm’ has been confirmed for a season 2! Thank you, and we love you. See you soon!” the main casts said through the clip.
The original main cast of the first season, Kim So-Hyun, Jung Ga-ram, and Song Kang, was reported to have reunited for a script reading of the second season earlier this year according to Netflix. It was also reported that the casts of the show have already started filming for the second season.
Fans are anticipating how the story will unfold for the three main leads. Many of the fans are shipping Kim So-Hyun’s character ‘Jo-jo’ with Song Kang’s character ‘Sun-oh’, believing that they still love each other even after their break-up.
However, there are also some fans who believe that Jung Ga-ram’s character ‘Hye-yeong’ deserves ‘Jo-jo’ more. In the first season, Hye-yeong hid his feelings for Jo-jo when he saw Jo-jo ring Sun-oh's Love Alarm.
Who will Jo-jo choose? This and more questions and mysteries from season 1 will be revealed on the upcoming season!
