The South Korean all-boy ensemble, DAY6, has formally made known their first-ever unit project. Counting five long years since the group’s debut, on August 11 (Tuesday), the band introduced a new sub-unit on their official social media accounts.
The shocking announcement was made by DAY6’s home management and recording label, JYP Entertainment, through spreading out a teaser that best resembles a ceremony invitation.
The newly introduced sub-unit of DAY6, Even of Day, bottles up the versatile trio, namely Wonpil (26), Young K (26), and Dowoon (24), Soompi reported.
According to Hellokpop, the official debut date of Even of Day is due on August 31 at precisely 6 P.M. KST with the launch of the trio’s new song. For the time being, the song is still untitled, and further details are up for release in the coming days.
The name Even of Day is put out by JYP Entertainment’s Head Park Jinyoung, combining the words “evening” and “day.” The term “evening” is from the time of the day while “day” is from the group’s name title.
The report finds that the new name of DAY6’s sub-unit is dynamic and enkindling. Even of Day sets out the goal of carrying their name title to bring out the message that it is not always a dark season, a bright new day waits ahead after a long dark and agitating night. The trio aims to bring hope and positivity to their fans through their enlivening music.
The card-carrying members of DAY6 will showcase various music types but will surely give out a more mature one as Even of Day. The trio has earned their coveted spot in the K-pop music scene through their distinct album releases as DAY6 over the years. The most prominent album the trip participated is DAY6’s recent ‘The Book of Us,’ with ‘Zombie’ as the lead single.
