BTS' rise to fame is like one from the movies, beating the odds to get where they have gotten right now. However, their story is not like a fairy tale as some members came close to not debuting with the group.

Here are some obstacles that the members overcame. (Via Koreaboo)

1. RM

RM shared that six months before he set to debut, he ran away from Big Hit Entertainment. While he was away, he shared that he met up with his father. His father ended up spending hours convincing RM to go back to their company.

His father stated that he knows that RM will be significant in Big Hit Entertainment, and his father knew he should be there. His father added that he knew that RM would have such regrets if he will not go back to the company. After their talk, RM went back to Big Hit Entertainment.

2. Suga

Mnet's TMI took a brief look at Suga's journey to debuting and found that Suga also had a hard time. He struggled financially during his trainee time. He had to work a lot of part-time jobs to sustain his needs like food and money. He also worked as a delivery man, where he ended up hurting his shoulder and led him to decide to quit being a trainee.

Thankfully, Bang Si Hyuk, the founder of Big Hit Entertainment, stopped Suga and told him that he would be willing to wait for Suga's shoulder to heal, and he also paid for Suga's tuition so he would not worry so much about money.

3. J-Hope

During an episode of Burn The Stage, it was revealed that J-Hope dropped out of BTS's lineup when he was still a trainee. RM ended up speaking with big people at Big Hit Entertainment and told them that J-Hope is needed in the group. After the talk with RM, the company changed its mind and decided to let J-Hope stay.
