On the August 23 episode of the SBS variety show "Master of the House," actress Kim Hee Sun appeared as one of the guests and talked about her entertainment business achievements.
Kim Hee Sun (this week's master) was joined with cast members Lee Seung Gi, Yang Se Hyung, Kim Dong Hyun, Shin Sung Rok, and ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo. In the show, Cha Eun Woo revealed that he didn't know who the actress was until he heard one of G-Dragon's lines where he says "Kim Tae Hee and Kim Hee Sun." To which Kim Hee Sun adorable replied, "that Kim Hee Sun is me."
Later during the "Master of the House" episode, when the other cast members brought up Kim Tae Hee, Song Hye Kyo, and Jun Ji Hyun, the actress added that there is the generation after her. Shin Sung Rok commented that there was a debate of which of those three was the prettiest, but there wasn't any of that in the previous generation, just Kim Hee Sun. Then, the actress made everyone laugh with the comment that she hadn't done any plastic surgery.
Kim Hee Sun is the face of many firsts throughout her career, with being the only actress to be cast in one K-drama to another during the mid-to-late 90s. The actress even won the top prize at the 1998 SBS Drama Awards for her role at the Kdrama "Mister Q," making her the youngest ever to win a Daesang award at the age of 21.
Taking Two Roles On Sci-Fi Drama' Alice'
"Alice" is a story about Park Jin Gyeom (Joo Woo) who discovers the existence time travel and goes back in time that ends up meeting a woman who resembles her mother (Kim Hee Sun). In the upcoming sci-fi drama, Kim Hee Sun plays two roles that serve as a challenge for the veteran actress.
One of Kim Hee Sun's characters is Yoon Tae Yi, a physics professor with a prickly personality, while the other is Park Sun Young, Park Jin Gyeom's mother. The actress stated that she did struggle to portray both characters in the same drama. Still, she was attracted by the fact that she could portray both characters who has the same appearance but have very different personalities.
Kim Hee Sun added that she was worried that both characters might seem similar, concerned that she might confuse viewers since she is doing dual roles. The actress said that she paid particular attention to making both her character's tone and facial expressions different.
