The former member of the AOA, Mina, has brought legal proceedings against a slanderous commenter. Mina's managing label, Woori Actors, announced on August 24 that they had sued a hostile commenter for civil liability.
Woori Actors stated, "We are suing a member of [social web] DC Inside who defames Kwon Mina. We have filed a civil complaint against one person who disparaged Kwon Mina in an article, and we are planning to take legal proceedings against all other users. However, Kwon Mina's condition has started to escalate significantly due to this slanderous action. We decided that we could not tolerate such behavior, so we initially submitted civil damages against a DC Inside user who publicly humiliated Kwon Mina in a thread on Nate Pann." (via Soompi)
Mina wrote many updates in July, wherein she cites she had been poorly treated for many years by her fellow member Jimin. Jimin proceeded on to convey an apology in writing to which Mina reacted to. Eventually, Jimin left the group and the company.
Mina has since spoken about her conflict with the other AOA members and her ongoing complaints as she seeks to gain genuine apologies from the members of the AOA and FNC Entertainment.
In early August, Mina uploaded a picture of her scarred wrist and a post linked to it on Instagram. Woori Actors subsequently revealed that she'd been handled and treated in a hospital. Upon her hospital discharge, Mina made a public apology and removed her Instagram page and is now concentrating on her recovery.
