2AM's Im Seulong, with a recommendation of formal charges, has now been forwarded to the prosecution.
The Seoul Seobu Police Station on August 28, revealed that Im Seulong had been forwarded to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment on the charge of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Settlement of Traffic Accidents, Soompi reported. According to the police, they cannot reveal the exact details regarding the case, but it has been acknowledged that Im Seulong is partially liable.
On August 1, it has been reported that Im Seulong was involved in a car accident. On a rainy night in Eunphong, Seoul, at 11:50 PM, KST, Im Seulong, while driving his SUV, struck a man who was crossing the road even though the signal light was red as reported by the Seoul Seobu Police Station. The man passed away shortly after being rushed to the hospital due to the severe injuries resulting from the encounter's impact.
Furthermore, Im Seulong was immediately investigated for potential violations of the Act on Special cases Concerning Traffic Accidents' Settlement. During the interview, the Seobu Police Station revealed that the singer has not driven under the influence.
Im Seoulong's agency Jellyfish Entertainment, following the incident, released an official statement saying their apologies and shared their deep condolences to the victim's family.
Meanwhile, the police were able to secure footage, after the initial investigation, from nearby CCTV cameras and the car's black box to continue investigating the case in detail. They checked the conditions at the time, taking a closer look at the pedestrian's liability and considering a possible careless driving case.
The accident's CCTV footage was also revealed publicly, showing Im Seulong's white SUV crashing into a pedestrian with an umbrella two seconds after entering the red light crosswalk.
With the investigation's progress, the police privately summoned Im Seulong on August 25, for additional questioning.
