Recently, news spread that the Melon Music Awards (MMA) will not be pursuing the event this year. With this issue, MMA has finally made an official response regarding the news.
According to Soompi, the music platform usually holds the awards ceremony, MMA, between November and December. As the COVID-19 resurged in Korea, news has scattered that the ceremony will not push through this year. South Korea is currently implementing Level 2.5 social distancing rules.
As per industry representative, “Melon seems like it has decided not to host MMA since July.” Another source shared that they have to look into things like the lineup and schedule for them to hold the awards ceremony from late November to December.
