Two idols from the same band, attributed to help promote widespread Korean popularity, have been arrested on criminal gambling charges abroad!
In their 30's and working to promote in the same male group, two male stars had been booked by the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's investigation unit as per an official press release from MBC Newsdesk.
It is after it has been revealed that during visits to Philippine casinos between 2016 and 2018, they have played up to some 50 million KRW (USD 42,300) in baccarat. Early last week, authorities called the two idol stars in for questioning, seeking answers about their gambling. (via Koreaboo)
During the interrogation, the two idol singers claimed that they did not flee Korea to the Philippines to play, but instead mistakenly gambled while in the Philippines. It has also been reported that one of the members was involved in online gaming platforms.
The two male celebrities are famous mainly in Japan, not just as skilled musicians but also as known actors. Even so, the identification of one individual may well have been exposed, as it has been confirmed that after being in touch with an adult entertainment staff, one of the two male singers tested positive for the Coronavirus earlier this year.
MBC's suspicions relate to Supernova as its member Yoonhak, tested positive back in April, and was subsequently revealed for visiting an adult entertainment facility.
When questioned about all the accusations, a representative at their agency didn't have anything to say. "I don't know that. Is it members of our party XX and XX? It seems I'm going to have to speak with them as well." Police are now probing whether the illicit gambling has involved others.
