On September 15, K-Pop boy band iKON celebrated their fifth anniversary with their fans iKONIC through a string of social media posts.
iKON celebrated its fifth anniversary with a V Live broadcast, selfies on social media, a special video titled "My Type: Live Video," featuring the group performing their singles, talking about precious moments, and more.
In the next days, iKON shared some fun group photos on Instagram with the caption: "We promise that we will be a supercar that runs FOREVER with iKONIC's love. Even 50 years, 100 years, 900 years later, we'll always be together on September 15."
Later on, each member of the group posted pictures and selfies on their personal accounts online. Jinhwan posts on Instagram with a message, "9/15 iKON's 5th Anniversary. Congratulations iKONIC & iKON.”
He also posted on his Instagram stories a selfie after the V Live party with a caption, "Please keep taking good care of us."
iKON member Donghyuk wrote on Twitter, congratulating the group's fifth anniversary and thanking all iKONIC who has been a part of their journey to this day. The K-pop idol also took to Instagram stories and wrote, "I miss you so much' in Korean, and "Love you and miss you" in English.
Junhoe wrote on Twitter, saying that "it's already our fifth anniversary. Thank you, everyone." Meanwhile, Chanwoo posted on his Instagram stories thanking the fans for wishing iKON their fifth anniversary with an image of other group members.
iKON debuted on September 15, 2015, with their debut album titled "Welcome Back" and their title track "My Type." The group went on to win multiple Rookie of the Year awards in three countries - Korea, Japan, and China - making them the first and only K-pop group to make such a feat.
iKON was formed by YG Entertainment and was firstly introduced in the reality show "WIN: Who Is Next" as Team B. The group would later appear in the 2014 reality survival show "Mix & Match," which determined the group's final membership lineup.
