Yoo Seung Jun
Yoo Seung Jun was among Korean's most successful artists in the late 1990s to early 2000s, but his success came to a screeching halt following a major controversy.
He had provided many assurances that he would fulfill his military commitments. Still, he decided to give up his Korean citizenship to obtain an American one when it was time for him to serve.
Yoo Seung Jun did not have to serve in the armed forces because of this, and for this, he faced a lot of outrage. Yoo Seung Jun was also ordered to leave South Korea, as this was perceived as a gesture of desertion by the Korean government.
Not just that, he was blocked from entering the nation as well. Although Yoo Seung Jun has been continuously making sincere apologies throughout the decades, he has still not been pardoned by the general public.
Jung Joon Young
Thanks to his singing ability and his fun attitude throughout television shows, Jung Joon Young was once admired by many. However, his success came to an abrupt end in 2019.
It was announced in 2019 that Jung Joon Young had sexually harassed women, filmed them unlawfully, and posted these recordings in a group conversation. Much of this was done without the women's permission. After being convicted, Jung Joon Young's reputation was forever destroyed.
MC Mong
In the 2000s, MC Mong was among the most successful acts in Korea, but after a controversy in 2010, his popularity took an enormous blow. MC Mong was accused of avoiding his army service in 2010 by purposely scratching-out some of his teeth.
Though MC Mong refuted these allegations initially, he was strongly criticized by netizens because they did not believe him. Now, whenever MC Mong participates in broadcasts, he gets a massive backlash from the netizens.
