Rapper C Jamm gets acquitted during the first hearing for his 2018 harassment case.
Judge Jin Jae Kyung of the Western District Court of Seoul ruled C Jamm to a six-month jail term suspended for two years on 28 September. The verdict indicates that C Jamm will undergo two years on supervised release, so if he fails the suspension status within those two years, he would have to complete a six-month jail term.
Moreover, it also requires the artist to do 120 hours of community service. (via Soompi)
C Jamm was drunk at a nightclub in Itaewon in December 2018 and began having a good time on top of a platform. That time, when they begged the musician to stop, C Jamm reportedly splashed liquid on a crowd of people and attacked one of them, alluded to as 'B.'
Person B "was struck by C Jamm in the face, culminating in a broken nose and a healing process of four weeks."
C Jamm, who was later arrested on charges of violence, said that "B" was the first to strike with his fist and that "B" was struck defensively by the rapper. However, the judge rejected these arguments.
The court stated, "[C Jamm] has a background of receiving a suspended sentence for illicit drug usage, and we have acknowledged how serious the wounds to the victim were."
The court further claimed that they found the assault by C Jamm to be accidental. When determining his conviction, they regarded the rapper's effort to settle with the victim as a mitigating aspect.
In 2016, C Jamm had been a runner-up in Mnet's "Show Me the Money" season five. In August 2018, for illicit drug activity, the musician earned a prison term of one year and six months suspended with two years of probation.
