Gong Myung is in talks to be starring in a new SBS drama opposite to Kim Yoo Jung!
The Korean news outlet Ilgan Sports On October 9 reported that Gong Myung had been cast as the male lead in the upcoming SBS drama titled Hong Chun Gi.
The agency of Gong Myung, Saram Entertainment, later that morning confirmed that the actor had been offered a role in the drama series. However, no response yet has been released by the actor's camp, and they clarified that he was still in talks regarding the project.
According to a representative from the agency, "Gong Myung is currently reviewing the offer after receiving a casting offer for 'Hong Chun Gi.'"
A Drama Based On A Novel
Authored by Jung Eun Gwol, the drama is based on the novel of the same name. The novel's author has been known for his created crafts, adapted to hit dramas series such as Sungkyunkwan Scandal and The Moon Embracing the Sun.
On the other hand, this new drama in talks titled Hong Chun Gi is a fantasy romance drama set in the Joseon era.
Furthermore, earlier this week, Kim Yoo Jung was confirmed to be in talks for the titular role of Hong Chun Gi. The character was said to be the Joseon dynasty's only female painter.
Previously, Ahn Hyo Seop was also reported to be in the discussion for the drama. It is unclear whether he was offered the same role as Gong Myung or is still in talks for a different position.
