The older woman, bitten by Kim Min Kyo's dogs, dies!
On July 4, KST, YTN announced that the older woman in her eighties, who was attacked by Kim Min Kyo's two dogs, passed away in the morning, according to Allkpop.
The victim has been receiving consecutive treatments and surgical operations after being hospitalized in May. Sadly, the older woman was not able to recover from the incident.
The police already summoned the family of the deceased for questioning, as reported. Meanwhile, Kim Min Kyo was also contacted for further investigation.
On May 9, according to Soompi, the older woman acquired severe injuries after being attacked by two dogs while she was gathering herbs in the garden near the celebrity's house.
According to the eyewitnesses, the dogs jumped over Kim Min Kyo's fence after spotting water deers on the mountain. The residents also mentioned that the dogs were about 20 kgs (approximately 40.1 pounds) and did not wear leashes and muzzles.
On May 10, Kim Min Kyo said that the older woman was currently undergoing treatment and that he is in good terms with his neighbors. He added that his wife rushed the woman to the emergency room and stayed with her.
The actor previously made a statement about the incident, saying that he is sorry for everyone's worries about his situation. He mentioned that during filming, his dogs inside the fence escaped over the wall and grabbed the poor woman.
He assured that he is taking good care of the woman and her family and that he will take responsibility for supporting the woman until all her treatments finish.
Previously, a misunderstanding during the woman's hospitalization ensued, which was cleared by the victim's daughter. She said that the actor did not ignore the problem and that they are sad that people misunderstood. The daughter emphasized that the actor is doing all that he can for her mother.
In Korea, all dogs must wear a leash when going out, and aggressive ones should have muzzles, The Korea Times reported. If dogs without protective equipment injure a person, the owner can face up to two year's jail or a fine of up to 20 million won ($16,000).
In the meantime, Kim Min Kyo is still under investigation. Stay tuned for further updates.
