K-pop artist Chungha has tested positive with the novel coronavirus, which was confirmed by her managing label. Chunga updated her fans after news broke concerning her health status.
On December 7, Monday, Soompi reported that Chungha has tested positive with COVID-19, which worried the fans. The young K-pop singer's managing label has confirmed the news from various news outlets and has released their official statement.
In the letter, MNH Entertainment verified that Chungha indeed contracted the virus and is currently undergoing self-quarantine. Chungha's future appearances at upcoming awarding ceremonies this month may be canceled.
Furthermore, MNH Entertainment explained that Chunga promptly canceled all her current and upcoming activities upon receiving the results and have undergone self-quarantine. MNH Entertainment added that Chungha is now being guided with the things she should do by the health authorities.
All the staff who made close contact with Chungha had been tested immediately after Chungha's test came positive. The agency assured fans that they would abide by the government's policy and restrictions to combat the ongoing coronavirus-19 pandemic.
MNH Entertainment also informed the public that they take extra precautionary measures by disinfecting their facilities, general inspection for potential transmission, and prioritizing the health of staff and their artists.
Moreover, Chungha also released her statement through her official fan cafe to update her fans following her COVID-19 test's positive results. In the letter, Chungha apologized to the fans for not being careful enough to avoid getting infected with the virus.
The K-pop idol assured fans that she will rest for now but will resume all promotional activities soon in good condition, and after she gets appropriate treatment. Chungha reminded her fans to be careful in the future, 'Byulharang be careful once more, don't worry to much and let's meet soon!'
