Baskin-Robbins warned those who are spreading the leaked premature cut of BTS' commercial, stating to take legal actions to those who will be caught.
Per Soompi, Baskin-Robbins released an official statement on their Twitter account regarding the leaked unfinished commercial of BTS. The company says that the announcement is for those excited to witness the coming together of BTS and Baskin-Robbins.
According to the statement, the commercial video currently circulated on social media is not the final cut, and it is an unfinished video. The company continued in a bold statement that it will take legal actions for those who are spreading the video. Baskin-Robbins requests everyone to stop spreading and sharing the video until the official video is released.
With the official statement of Baskin-Robbins, BTS fans criticize that the announcement appears to be directed at them even with the lack of evidence that they were responsible for the spread of leaked commercials. After receiving negative complaints, Baskin-Robbins Korea deleted the tweet.
Earlier this month, the ice cream chain announced that they had chosen BTS to represent its upcoming flavor for August, as reported by IBT Entertainment.
After the announcement early this month, the American ice cream chain revealed that the company already wrapped up all photo shoots and shooting for the advertisement on June 30, reported by The Korea Herald.
Baskin-Robbins also added that the promotion for the new ice cream flavor set for August would be released via social media and on cable TV. Baskin-Robbins also mentioned that they would roll out various promotional goods, such as "projection light" to make the most of the Baskin-Robbins-BTS partnership.
To further encourage the ARMYs, a Baskin-Robbins and BTS collaborated product called "BTS Cake," will be available for pre-order with the purchase of a projection light starting mid-July.
"We have captured the charms of BTS in the commercial to make you forget the summer heat, so do look forward to it," said an official from SPC Group.
