On July 16 (Wednesday), FNC Entertainment broke the unfortunate news through an official fan café notice that SF9 member Rowoon will be taking a break for their band's ongoing promotions for their latest EP "9loryUS."
The unfortunate news was caused by Rowoon's back and knee pain that started on their Tuesday (July 15) performance. According to the 23-year-old singer, the pain lasted throughout their group photoshoot shortly after their music stage stunt. As a result, Rowoon decided to visit a physician on the morning of the 16th.
Per Hellokpop, the doctor advised the pop star after a "thorough examination" to avoid "intense movements" that includes dancing. The doctor also pointed out that Rowoon's back and knee pain will intensely worsen if he continues to exhaust himself.
"Rowoon's activities will inevitably be adjusted as doctors recommend him to take a break along with treatment for the time being," FNC explained. The agency then promised the fans to work with special care, so the affected shows' deferred dates will not be disrupted, exempting events that require intense choreography.
FNC Entertainment also stated that SF9's forthcoming virtual concert, NOOB CON, scheduled for August 8, would be put on hold. For this reason, the all-boy K-pop ensemble aspires to give out the best performance, and that would not be possible without Rowoon.
"…restoring our artist's health is our top priority," the agency explained.
According to Soompi, FNC Entertainment highlighted in their released statement that the agency would take into consideration filing a lawsuit to any individual who spreads baseless rumors regarding the K-Pop idol.
Shortly after FNC Entertainment's announcement, 'Extraordinary You' lead actor and SF9 member sent out a lengthy apology letter through the band's official fan café.
"I'm really sorry to my members, and I'm really truly sorry to you all," Rowoon sadly expressed.
