Upcoming KBS Drama “Oh! Samkang Villa” shared happenings from its first script reading together with the cast.
The weekend drama is about different kinds of people gathered in a house called Samkang Villa. The Villa is run by a woman named Lee Song Jung.
The show starts with a group of strangers who somehow began to open up their hearts, and they also began to love one another. The show also delivers a message that no matter how chaotic the world gets, love will always exist in human relationships.
The script reading was held at KBS Building in Yeouido last July. Jung Bo Suk said, “This is that the funniest script I’ve ever read in my career,” and therefore, the cast frequently broke out into laughter while reading their lines.
Jin Ki Joo and Lee Jang Woo also delivered to life their characters’ lovable back-and-forth chemistry. Although they get off on the wrong foot, this adds spice to their romance.
Lee Jang Woo plays Woo Jae Hee, a particularly detail-oriented architect. In contrast, Jin Ki Joo plays Lee Bit Chae Woon, who works at a little interior decorating firm and dreams of being a textile designer.
Veteran actors Jeon In Hwa, Jung Bo Suk, and Hwang Shin Hye were also present. Jeon In Hwa plays the role of Lee Song Jung, who worked for 30 years as a housekeeper and is a warmhearted mother of three that kept her innocence and girlish heart.
Her children are Lee Bit Chae Woon, WJSN’s Bona as Lee Hae Deun, and Ryeo Woon as Lee Ra Hoon. Jung Bo Suk will play the old-school father of Woo Jae Hee, Woo Jung Hoo, his first starring role in KBS weekend drama. He is president of a big corporation but is still down to earth, who wears socks with holes in the supermarket.
Yoon Kyung Ah, the scriptwriter, shared that he was excited every time he sat down with his laptop but now even more excited to see the cast.
“Oh! Samkang Villa” will premiere this September after the Korean drama “Once Again.”
