Several shows in South Korea have been canceled due to the spike of cases in Coronavirus. For the very same reason, the production team for the musical "Jamie" decided to put the show on hold as well.
Last week, a new wave of infections had started in South Korea, imposing level 2 of social distancing. With that, musical shows, concerts, and other events wrapped up early, while others ended up halting their performances in the meantime.
Jamie, which stars ASTRO's MJ, NU'EST's Ren, and Jo Kwon as the main lead, revealed in their official Instagram account last August 24, 2020, that due to the spike of Coronavirus, the musical show will be placed on hold until August 30.
The musical Jamie is now on exceptional rising success, especially with the breakout of Jo Kwon, who is also known to embrace his hermaphrodite beauty that fits in Jamie's character.
A performance that is supported based on a true story of the documentary 'Jamie: 16-year-old Drag Queen', the show that aired on the BBC in the year 2011 is about a unique and assured 17-year-old highschool student who finds his dream and true self against the unfairness of the planet, drawing a powerful growth story.
Jo Kwon, Shin Joo Hyup, ASTRO's MJ, and NU'EST's Ren each took on the special and imposing Jamie who jumps over the wall toward "her" dream. Jo Kwon, who features a lot of talent and energy, Shin Joo Hyup, who is active within the CRT beyond musicals, and Astro MJ and NU'EST's Ren, who challenge the primary musical, were also the cast.
The management has some plans to resume the "Jamie" musical show on September 1 onwards, although the schedules given could change without prior notice. The purchased tickets for the shows August 25 to August 30 will be fully refunded and with no additional processing fees.
