BTS made a special appearance on September 10 on the evening news program "KBS News 9"!

BTS on "KBS News 9" talked about the success of their latest single "Dynamite," which recently topped the Billboard Hot 100 for the second consecutive week. The group's achievement being the No. 1 on the chart, made history by becoming the first all-South Korean group to top the Billboard Hot 100. And with their second No.1, extended the record to be the first time an all-South Korean boy act topping the US chart for two weeks.

Regarding the explosive success of "Dynamite," Suga expressed that the situation about COVID-19 is worse even in overseas. Hence, BTS' primary focus is to give their fans a little bit of strength. He shared that these promising results are because the fans liked it.

RM then added that there are a lot of different ways that people overcome their depression and sadness in a problematic situation, but the group chose a standard method. He continued that people needed a sense of happiness and hope that the familiar disco-pop genre would bring it.

When asked about the group status being "world stars," V expressed that he feels it more than he did before. He shared that his family's acquaintances tell them that they are ARMYs now. J-Hope quipped that they got a lot of cheers when they came into the newsroom for the interview with KBS.

Furthermore, the group also shared the difficulties they encountered during their trainee days. Jin said that there was a time that a banana went terrible in their dorm, and they have to catch flies with a vacuum cleaner. There was also a time when he eats nothing but chicken breasts. There used to be a limit in what they could eat, but now, they could eat whatever they want, Jin shared.

Jimin also added that their mindset is now different from the past. He said that they were impatient and resolved in the past, but now they are more relaxed. "But our attitude towards fans and our music hasn't changed."

When talked about their next album, Jimin said that they have songs that are as good and even better than "Dynamite," and fans should look forward to it. "This is a bit ambitious, but I hope that the entire album can get into the Hot 100 this time," Jungkook added that the members of the group participated a lot in the production.

About the question regarding GRAMMYs, Suga shared that he hopes that they can be nominated for an award and that they can have a solo performance there.

In the interview, the group talked about their new song "Ma City," also considered as "5.18," which refers to the May Democratic Uprising in 1980. Also, the boys shared how they communicate with their fans amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lastly, the BTS members were asked if they could create a "challenge" for the youth who are growing up in the COVID-19 crisis. V shared his thought and said that there's a lot of things people can't do because of COVID-19. "I believe that it would be better to write or express the first thing we want to do after COVID-19 ends. It's like a 'dream challenge.'"
