BLACKPINK member Jennie graces an exclusive interview with ELLE Magazine, where she revealed to be the first trainee to ink a contract with the renowned Korea-based entertainment agency YG Entertainment.
The 'SOLO' singer shared an impression to her fellow band members, and K-pop dedicated news site Kpopstarz has blurted out Jennie's notes to her beloved queens.
Jennie shared on the interview that is the first one to sign under the care of the YG Entertainment, allowed her to witness the rest of the members, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo enter the doors of the agency. Moreover, Jennie first knew K-pop when she was still in New Zealand as a student.
Despite her mother working on her transfer program to Florida, United States at the age of fourteen, her sole family supported her passion for making music and moving back to South Korea in 2010.
The same year she moved back to the country was also her audition to the agency by performing Rihanna's 'Take a Bow.'
The next trainee who joined Jennie in the agency is the Thailand-born rapper of the femme fatale, Lisa. Jennie shared how she admired Lisa for being so tall, even with her young age, and how she looks stunning. "She started dancing like a robot. She memorized everything in seconds!" the idol revealed.
Jisoo then joined the agency in 2011, where Jennie recalls her fellow queen as someone eager to learn and acquire new stuff. Jisoo is the eldest of the band, and according to Jennie, having someone like her is "really motivating."
The last trainee to join the agency was Rosé after getting accepted in 2012 in Sydney, Australia. She finishes at the first spot among 700 other applicants that made her fly to South Korea instantly.
Moreover, Jennie revealed that Rosé made her realize the true meaning of what music was supposed to do in the world. The idol further shared the Rosé helped her to understand more about cultural differences.
