Pledis Entertainment finally confirms the comeback date for Seventeen. The label stated, "Seventeen is preparing to make a comeback with a new album slated for June 22." Allkpop reported.
S.coups, Seventeen’s leader, revealed last March that the boys are preparing for a comeback this year when he was announcing his return from a four-month hiatus.
Their previous album ‘An Ode’ that was released in September 2019 won a Disc Bonsang during the recent Golden Disc Awards. The boy group also conducted a world tour titled ‘Ode To You’ that was supposed to end until March. Unfortunately, the remaining part of the tour was canceled due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
However, Seventeen;’s fans, called Carats, are still well fed despite the Coronavirus outbreak. The boys have been active on Weverse, responding to fans, sharing how their day went, and even having funny banters between the members of the group.
Seventeen also continued to broadcast their reality show ‘Going Seventeen’ and web show ‘IF’. These shows display the playful side of the members, mostly the group going through challenges from the production staff and some light behind the scenes before their performances.
On May 12, Seventeen released a teaser for their new documentary ‘Hit The Road’. The documentary highlights their hard work, real struggles, and raw moments during their ‘Ode To You’ world tour.
The documentary consists of 15 episodes in total, which is being broadcast every Wednesday and Friday until June 7, 2020 on Seventeen’s official YouTube channel and their official Weverse.
It has been 5 years since Seventeen debuted and they recently celebrated their 5th anniversary on May 26 with a donation towards children and adolescents in need. The boys also released a special music video for their track ‘Snap Shoot’ on the same day, where member Mingyu was credited for everything, from directing to producing
The comeback for these talented and self-producing boys is definitely something to look forward to.
