The Korean Business Research Institute has finally released the brand reputation rankings for male idol groups for the month of August.
According to Soompi, the rankings were determined by analyzing media coverage, communication or interaction, community awareness, and consumer participation indexes of various boy groups, using big data collected from July 7 to August 7, 2020.
At the top of the list for the 27th consecutive month is BTS with a brand reputation index of 8,924,775 for August. Highest-ranking related terms included "launching," "surpass," and "donate," while their high-ranking phrases in the group's keyword analysis included "Oricon," "Dynamite," and "Billboard."
BTS, also known as Bangtan Boys, has seven South Korean boy band members. They were initially a hip hop group, yet their musical styles have evolved and have included a wide range of genres.
BTS's positivity-negativity revealed a score of 83.55 percent positive reactions.
The Top 2 on the list for this month's rankings is EXO, enjoying an impressive rise with a brand reputation index of 2,523,066 beating the spot of SEVENTEEN from their previous month's brand reputation rankings.
The third spot on the ranking was claimed by SEVENTEEN, who switched places with EXO. The 13-member group got a total brand reputation index of 1,783,082. With the group's vast area of specialization through subunits like Hip-hop, Vocal, and Performance, they remain among the top rankings.
NCT ranked onto their spot in fourth place, with a total index of 1,515,637 points. Finally, rounding up the top five for August is the boy band group SF9 with a brand reputation index of 1,238,341.
